Return of the Sun

We will witness the return of the sun in the morning next week. This weekend, we set our clocks back as Daylight Savings Time comes to an end.

The Book Character Parade will be tomorrow morning. In the event of inclement weather, we will reroute the parade through the gymnasium instead of going outside. Parents will stand around the perimeter of the gymnasium.Students will continue marching on the right hand side of the hallway and enter the second gym door (closer to the stairs). The students will march around the gym and exit by the first door (the door near the media center).  Let's show our love of books tomorrow!

There will be a Day of the Dead Cultural Learning Experience on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM. The DLI and 1st grade classes will participate in this event.

We have heard your concerns about sick children on campus (I was an early victim so I completely empathize with you). The night crew is conducting deep cleanings of  the rooms that have been impacted by the flu. If you feel your room was impacted by the flu but not cleaned, please contact Mr. Hutson.

We have sent communication to parents via the BeeMail advising them to keep sick children at home and that we are offering a Flu clinic. You may include the verbiage from the letter that was sent in your weekly newsletters to the parents. I am including a copy of the letter that was sent below.

FLU SEASON IS APPROACHING!

Now is the best time to get the Flu vaccine!! FREE Flu clinic at Morris Brandon on November 13th! Parent consent forms have been sent home and need to be completely filled out and returned to the school no later than Friday, November 8th.

See attached consent forms (ENGLISH)
and (ESPANOL).

Take everyday preventive actions to reduce the spread of germs and BEE healthy!
• Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
• Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. After using the tissue, throw it in the trash and wash your hands.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
• Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like flu.

If your child is sick with flu-like illness, your child needs to stay home from school until no fever (temperature less than 100F) for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.

We have uploaded the school pictures for the 2019-2020 school year. Please email Mr. Hutson if you notice any incorrect pictures in Infinite Campus.

Thanks for everything you do and enjoy the rest of the week.
