Distance Learning Plan (Weather Wise & Emergency Preparation)

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! We know that there is so much in the air right now (figuratively and literally) and that you are working diligently through it all. We love you and appreciate your hard work.
In the event of inclement weather and school closure, there are a number of activities we must complete if schools have to close for over three days. These activities are meant to continue learning virtually while students are at home. We have a plethora of resources to share with our families and we should be prepared to send them out to our community when needed. We will start with a few general resources/instructions and then  proceed to grade level specific tasks.

Be sure to survey your class and determine which students do not have access to internet and/or a device at home. We are working on a plan to support students that need technology during an extended school closure.

Each teacher needs to have assignments for 3 days posted in their Weather Wise or Google Classroom. Please practice with students on how to find your Google Classroom and complete the assignments. We will have a Google Classroom test run on March 16, 2020. Post one question in your classroom for students to answer on Monday. They will complete this task as part of the test run. We also need everyone's class code for Google Classroom. Please click here to enter your Google Classroom Code on the spreadsheet.

Remind your families to utilize our partnership with Fulton County Public Library (CLASS Pass) to borrow books. Through this partnership, each APS student may borrow up to 50 books at one time from the public library. CLASS Pass is accessible through Mybackpack. Please connect with your neighborhood branch librarian to assist.

Students have access to Tutor ATL 7 days a week from 4 PM to 11 PM. Tutor ATL can be accessed through MyBackpack.
